P5 Adventure Camp Details

Dear Fanatics,

It's the weekend and I miss you all already.

Looking forward to seeing most of you on Monday. We are going to have lots of fun as long as it does not rain.

Some points to note:

  1. Do remember to wear track pants and a school shirt like your carnival shirt. Trust me, You will need the 2 pairs of track pants.
  2. Please assemble at the sports hall at 730am. I have included the group list below so that you all know which group you belong to.
  3. Remember to bring a water bottle. You are going to perspire so you will need to drink a lot of water.
  4. If you have asthma, remember to bring your inhaler.
  5. Sleeping bags are a MUST. It will be cold and you will need the cushioning and insulation from the sleeping bag. You might want to bring an inflatable pillow. But do not bring too much stuff. You will regret it when you have to bring your bags up the staircase.

Latest updates for Class movie

Wow!

It's been a long time.

Anyways,

I was just informed that I can only leave at 130pm. The only slots available then for Caroline are not 3D, at 220pm.

This means that we can either meet at Cineleisure in front of the Level 5 Box Office at 215pm or Somerset MRT Station Ticketing Office at 2pm then proceed to watch the movie . If you want to play at the arcade you may do so earlier.

Please remember to pass me your Mobile Phone numbers tomorrow. your Group list as well.

Good News for Me, Bad news for our Outing.

Dear Fanatics,

My sister is giving birth to my first niece this Wednesday. I am quite excited about this but this also means that I will be busy on Thursday visiting my sister and my niece.

I am very sorry about cancelling the Class movie outing. We will plan for one after the term break or even on Children's Day.

When we meet next Monday, I would appreciate your opinions on whether Children's Day (1st October 2009), a Thursday is a good date for all of you to have our class movie outing.

IF this is not possible, then we can have one after the exams.

I am very sorry about this last minute cancellation, especially when so many of you are so excited about it.

With apologies,
Edmund Wu

NE SHOW 2009!!!!

Dear Fanatics,

Just a few reminders for the NE show tomorrow.

Please remember to bring a cap and raincoat tomorrow. It usually is very sunny when we reach the Marina Bay Platform. In case it rains, the poncho provided in the funpack should be sufficient but better to be safe than sorry.

You are allowed to bring a camera to take photos or even videos. But you need to take responsibility and look after your items.

I will allow you to bring your personal game machines like PSP and Nintendo DS but you again need to exercise responsibility and look after your game machines.

Please remember to bring a snack or some food in case the food packs provided are insufficient. You should bring some water as well. Do remember that you will also be carrying a fun pack so you need to strike a balance between having sufficient food and water and being overloaded.

I'm looking forward to sharing NE show 2009 with you boys!!! Let's have an enjoyable time tomorrow !!! I hope that I do not need to have to discipline any of you tomorrow. :(

Ok! off to get a good cap to cover my head. Might get sunburn since there isn't much covering on my head.

Edmund Wu

Children's Cancer Foundation's Hair For Hope

Hey Fanatics,

I want to bring your attention to this event.

The Hair For Hope Project is organised by the Children's Cancer Foundation to raise funds and to raise public awareness of the plight of children who are cancer patients in Singapore. People pledge to be 'Shavees' and their relatives and friends pledge money to support them.

If we get more than 12 'Shavees', they will can come to our school to hold the event.

So take a look at the website and ask your parents for permission. They will need to fill in the consent form found on the website.

Cheers,

Edmund Wu

Some Items to Note for the week ahead

Dear Fanatics,

Some items I would like to keep you informed of for the following week:
  1. Due to the Alert level for H1N1 Type A Influenza having been raised to Orange. The following measures have been put in place:

· All students must bring their thermometers to school everyday. We will be having a temperature-taking exercise twice a day.

· I will display the Standard Operating Procedure via the Projector everyday.

· I am advising all of you to bring your own hand sanitiser for your own protection.

· After the temperature- taking exercise, you will wipe the tip of your thermometer with tissue paper which will then be disposed of properly in a garage bag. You are to wash it with soap and water when you reach home for use tomorrow.

· I would like to ask that some of you volunteer to bring bottles of hand soap to be put at the class sink for everyone to use.

2. Do remember that the Listening Comprehension Paper will be held during English Lessons on Wednesday, 6th May. Do not go around discussing the paper after you have taken the paper as some of your level mates might not have taken the paper. As some students might have been absent, please refrain from doing so for the next few days.

3. The same goes for your English Paper 1 held on Thursday, 7th of May. Do refer to my Notes on the Writing Paper I passed to you last week. Please bring them for revision practice tomorrow.

4. I will go through Practice Paper 2 tomorrow. Please remember to complete it if you have not done so.

Remind your parents to read the emails sent by the school over the weekend. If they have not received any, get them to visit the School website for important updates.

Let us pray to our Creator for blessings and protection through this period of crisis.

Yours,

Edmund Wu
